World Butoku Sai - Kyoto, Japan - 2012

Shinzui Kan Aikido Dojo members travelled to Japan from April 24th to May 1st, 2012 to participate in the 4th World Butoku Sai and the 50th Japan Butoku Sai in Kyoto.  There were nearly 300 international members from 22 nations and 350 Honbu members from across Japan in attendance for the historic event. 
The Shinzui Kan Aikido Dojo members participated in the special budo seminars teaching Shinden-Ryu Jujutsu, Yanagi-Ryu Jujutsu, and Soujutsu.  We were honored to be able give two aikido demonstrations to the DNBK Honbu Board of Directors and international spectators during the World Butoku Sai and the Commemorative International Rensei Taikai which was dedicated to honor all young children who perished due to the great Tsunami disaster.

Jacksonville Aikido Invitational - May 14th 2011

Aikido of Jacksonville hosted a training seminar on Saturday, May 14th to strengthen the bonds between budo-minded aikidoka.  Five dojos and forty participants trained diligently together in the spirit of aikido and budo.  The budo mindset transcended stylistic differences and political groups and focused the spirit of the event on training with proceeds going toward St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Participants demonstrated a true display of ki musubi - the linking of ki.
